PocketQuest — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 11, 2026

PocketQuest is developed by MubarakLab. This policy explains the information handled by the app, its iPhone companion and these support pages.

Your saved adventure

PocketQuest stores your adventure on your Apple Watch: Trail Sparks, bond, story choices and memories, collection, home arrangement, dates and a fixed campaign timezone. A random local ownership identifier and save generation help keep restored adventures and paired copies separate. These are not advertising or account identifiers.

Your paired iPhone can receive a dated, read-only copy for browsing and backup. The Watch controls gameplay. PocketQuest has no custom account or developer-hosted cloud save, and the app does not send your adventure to a MubarakLab server.

Optional movement information

With your permission, PocketQuest reads cumulative step information from the owning Watch through Core Motion to calculate Trail Sparks. It keeps eligibility and daily reward records to avoid rewarding the same movement twice. Recent raw observations and daily movement records are bounded; durable reward records protect your saved balance.

A current campaign-day movement summary may appear on your paired iPhone. The iPhone never supplies steps. Backups exclude raw movement history, permission state and purchase authority. Camp works without Motion permission; turning permission off does not remove earned progress.

PocketQuest does not request HealthKit, GPS/location, microphone or workout access.

Purchases

Apple processes the optional permanent unlock. PocketQuest uses StoreKit to check verified purchase access and stores local transaction-delivery records separately from your adventure. MubarakLab does not receive your payment card details through the app. Restoring a backup does not transfer purchase authority.

Widgets, preferences and sharing

Display and haptic preferences are stored locally. Watch widgets read a dated local projection of your adventure; they do not collect new movement or make game choices.

A shared card contains original artwork and optional authored text. The card renderer does not add step counts, real location, your name, save dates or internal identifiers. Sharing happens only when you choose a native share action.

A backup file contains progress, story memories, dates, the campaign timezone and internal world identifiers needed for recovery. If you export it to Files, a cloud drive or another app, that destination controls its copy. Share only information you intend to disclose.

Retention and deletion

Your adventure remains on your devices until you reset or remove it. Resetting on the Watch starts a new adventure and queues a deletion notice for the paired phone. An offline device may keep an earlier copy until it receives the notice. Explicit replacement retains a local recovery copy of the previous save.

Reset does not delete backups you saved outside the app, erase an old offline Watch immediately, or remove Apple’s purchase records. To remove a retained app container and its recovery copies, use the device’s app-deletion controls after exporting anything you want to keep. A this-device-only ownership token may remain in the system keychain; it does not contain your story or movement history.

Analytics and third-party services

PocketQuest includes no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDK and no runtime AI service. Apple handles App Store purchases and may process diagnostics according to your Apple settings and its privacy policy.

These pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub records visitor IP addresses for security, as described in GitHub’s Pages documentation and privacy statement. This website does not add a separate advertising or analytics tracker.

When you contact support

If you email support, we receive your email address, message and attachments you choose to send through the email service. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot. Do not send passwords, payment details or a full backup unless you deliberately choose to share relevant content. You can request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
