NextStep — Support

Help with your next step, your watch and your data.

Try your first routine

  1. Choose Try a 45-second demo and review the routine.
  2. Choose Start routine. Let a step reach zero to see how overtime works.
  3. Tap Done when you finish each step. The practice session stays out of real history.

Create your own routine or customize a starter when you are ready. An app account and notification permission are not required to run a routine.

Why did the deadline stay the same?

Pause freezes your step's active time, and Add time increases its budget. Your finish-by deadline stays fixed so you can see how much time is left overall. Use Change finish time if you intend to move the deadline. Catch-up suggestions skip only the optional future steps you explicitly approve.

Apple Watch and paired sync

Open NextStep on both paired devices after installation. Saved routines transfer when the system allows; check Settings → Paired devices and use Sync now to request an update. Saved routines can run locally on Apple Watch while disconnected.

The device where you start a session controls it. If you start separate sessions while disconnected, both remain separate when devices reconnect. A stale status on the other device is not permission to control the owner's routine.

Missing alerts

In NextStep Settings, review Step-end alerts, Finish-time alerts and notification status. Check NextStep's notification permission, Focus, Silent mode and device settings. A denied permission does not stop the routine, and delivery while your wrist is down depends on watchOS. Open the app to see the current step; an alert never completes it.

Keep step names private is on by default. Turning it off can reveal names on notification and system surfaces. Foreground haptic feedback and its preview follow the app setting; they do not prove background alert delivery.

Save, export, import and delete

Use Settings → Your data → Export my data, then Share or save export. Full exports include private history and notes. Use the iPhone import control to review a .nextstep file before merging or replacing data. Replacement preserves an app-owned recovery copy; save it elsewhere if you need to keep it.

If a save fails, leave the retained content in place and retry after addressing the device's storage or availability problem. Do not uninstall the app as a first troubleshooting step. Export a backup before destructive changes when possible.

Delete all local data requires confirmation and removes local routines, drafts and history. It does not erase copies outside the app, immediately erase an offline peer, or cancel a subscription. Independently active work on the other device is preserved.

Pro, restoration and billing

Use Settings → NextStep Pro → Restore purchases with the Apple Account used to buy. If Apple reports a pending purchase, wait for approval or confirmation before assuming access is active. A missing product or purchase error does not remove your saved routines.

To cancel a subscription, use Apple subscription settings. For refunds, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Buying lifetime access does not automatically cancel a subscription. See the terms for details.

Contact support

Email almahmeed.dev@gmail.com with your app version, iOS or watchOS version, the device you were using, and what happened. Include the exact error message if available. Share only the screenshot details needed to explain the issue; omit personal routine notes, passwords, payment details and full backups unless you deliberately choose to include relevant content.
